Who can Volunteer?
Our volunteers come from all walks of life, some have long work experience and qualifications, while others don't. You don't need any particular qualifications or experience as Citizens Advice provide training for all roles within the organisation. All we ask is that you can spare a minimum of 6 hours a week and that you are willing to work within the aims of CAB and to adhere to the following principles:
Impartiality - Whatever your views are, you will be expected to work with all kinds of clients and any kind of problem they have. You will need to be prepared to give an equally good service to everyone.
Equal Opportunities - All advisers are expected to carry out the CAB policy of equal opportunities. This means an active opposition to all forms of discrimination and to make sure that the service is equally available to all people.
Confidentiality - Everything that you see and hear in the bureau has to be private and everyone has to sign an agreement to observe a strict rule of confidentiality before they begin work in the bureau.
Training - A Commitment to training and learning.
